"Do it yourself" maintenance
Dieffelegno is more than happy to give you excellent advice to keep you doors and windows in perfect condition.
First of all we would remind you that maintenance work should always be carried out in spring and/or autumn.
It is particularly important that you pay attention to lubricating locks to prevent problems with opening and/or closing. We suggest you use either Vaseline or a similar light grease.
In the event of the varnish on external surfaces showing signs of bleaching, we recommend that you carry out the following maintenance work:
- Wash the door or window with an anti-silicone thinner
- Use a brush to apply Teak Oil to the surface to protect the original varnish.
- If the surface is very dirty, we suggest you wash it with soap and warm water then apply the thinner with a soft cloth followed by a thin coat of Teak Oil.
If your doors or windows show scratches in the varnish or other signs of wear and tear:
- Use similar or lighter colours to touch up any defects
